Finally, after I wasn't happy with the previous release I have reviewed I can say this release "DJ Doddo vs. Glaukor ft. Morgana - Hi", is the first Italo Dance review of 2013.
It looks like it have been a longtime since good music was being released. I can tell you from my own experience, good dance music in this era is pretty rare. When I saw the playlist of this release my first impression was very positive. I can tell: I wasn't wrong!
The first track on this release is "Hi (Dance Rocker Remix)". The track immediately starts with a beautiful intro. An intro which exists of a simple synth chords, vocal cuts followed by the famous Italo Dance fat bass line.
After a while you'll hear the intro of the vocals. The intro of the vocals are being played reversed, or at least that's how it sounds. It reminds me of an another Italo Dance song from 2003, "Danijay - I Fiori Di Lilla". On the promo edition of "Danijay - I Fiori Di Lilla" Danijay used a similar vocal effect, in fact it sounds so beautiful even after almost 10 years I still didn't forget it!
The synth melody on this version is pretty catchy and simple. Any true Italo Dance lover would like this version.
The DJ-V version of "Hi" sounds a little bit more aggressively compared to the Dance Rocker version, but in a good way. This is a typical Italo Dance masterpiece, it has al ingredients for a perfect Italo Dance song. Lets move to the next version!
It's time to talk about the third version of "Hi", the Bietto Remix version. This version starts
with a simple dance drum pattern followed by a fat Italo Dance bass line combined with vocal cuts. The bass line sounds pretty hard and aggressive which I really love. I can't really say anything about the vocals as they're the same like in the other versions, after the vocals the main synth lead starts.
What I really liked about this version is the main synth lead combined with the fat Italo Dance bass line. Bietto used a great instrument combination on this one. There you have it an aggressive bass line and an aggressive synth instrument, what will you get? A good piece of music!
The DJ Spampy Engel version is different compared to the other versions. There is one thing about this track that really got my attention. There is no Italo Dance bass line in this song, instead there is a simple sharp hard dance bass line. This version sounds more like a German production instead of an Italian but in a good way! The bass line really catchy, along with the main synth lead it sounds superb. This is definitely the best version of "Hi". And again DJ Spampy Engel did a fine job on this remix, I really hope DJ Spampy Engel will release more good music in the future.
The Gabry'n Style Vision starts right away with a high Italo Dance bass line with vocal cuts, it sounds very catchy. After this, a piano lead will announce the vocals with some simple pad chords played on the background. After the vocals the main synth lead starts, the main lead sounds hard and aggressive and really matches the bass line. The main synth melody sounds also beautiful, it's the kind of melody you won't forget quickly. Like the previous versions, this is true Italo Dance!
On releases like this, there is always a version you will dislike. On this release this version is
Off Beat Boy Remix. I just hate this version why? Because it sounds like the usual so called "Dance" music, which sounds more likely like a combination of House and Pop music. The kind you'll hear on almost any commercial Dance station on the FM band nowadays. It just sucks, and I can't stand this kind of music.
The last and final version of "Hi", the Marko Maio Remix version. Like the previous versions who had a hard and aggressive bass line, this version has a much softer bass line. It sounds more like an Italo Dance song from the 2000's, which isn't really bad. It still has the Italo Dance ingredients!
