Dance Rocker - Play It Again
It has been a while since Dance Rocker released an another release. Now Dance Rocker has released "Play It Again". One thing is for sure I will play it again on my iPod!
One thing I want to mention the singer of the vocals has a big foreign accent. Normally people (usually who like mainstream Dance music), would criticize it with but as a true Italo Disco and Italo Dance lover I love it! In Italo the vocals should be considered as an instrument and not a vocal itself. Let start with the review.
The first version of "Play It Again" on this release is the Radio Edit version. The song starts with a good rhythm followed by the vocals. The overall Italo Dance elements are present in this track so it sounds great. The main synth lead and effects are typical Italo Dance theme. So there is nothing wrong with this version.
The DJ Cillo version sounds a little bit like the Radio Edit but the main synth melody sounds much harder and is very catchy. Any Italo Dance fan would recognize this song as an Italo Dance song.
If you like slow Italo Dance (more likely 90BPM Italo, movimentolento) you will like the (Hrde Remix Edit). This is a slow version of "Play It Again"! The song starts with the vocals but its tweaked with a vocoder so it sounds more like a vocal that could straight come right from a Laser Dance song, followed by a fat Italo Dance bass line.
Everybody knows how cool a fat Italo Dance bass line sounds when its played in slow motion! The main synth melody on this version perfectly fits in with the bass line. As I said before if you like movimentolento you'll like this version for sure!
The Musicforce Remix Edit version shouldn't be on this release. It's a real disappointment compared to the other versions. Why? Because it's just some wannabe House/Pop attempt to re-create "Play It Again". Therefore there is nothing nice on this version. These kind of songs shouldn't be released on an Italo Dance release, it would fit more likely on some House or Pop release so I have no clue why they did it.
